EGYM Accelerates North American Expansion Of Their Corporate Wellness Solution Wellpass By acquiring Leading U.S. Studio & Gym Network FitReserve

September 11, 2024

Munich / New York. September 10, 2024 - EGYM, the global fitness technology and corporate wellness innovation leader, has acquired FitReserve, a premier all-access studio and gym network in the U.S. This acquisition accelerates EGYM's expansion of its Wellpass corporate wellness offering in the large and rapidly growing U.S. corporate wellness market.

Initially launched as a direct-to-consumer membership, FitReserve was acquired by national employee benefits provider Trustmark in 2022. Since the acquisition by Trustmark, FitReserve has built out its employer offering and substantially grown its gym network to nearly 2,000 studio and gym partners, offering 600,000 classes in over 60 major markets nationwide. As part of EGYM Wellpass, FitReserve will now be exclusively provided to Wellpass' corporate partners and will no longer be available directly to consumers.

"We've been extremely impressed by FitReserve's rapid growth in the United States and its adoption by the most sought-after brands in fitness," commented EGYM CEO Philipp Roesch-Schlanderer. "The $20 billion U.S. corporate wellness market has always been a strategic expansion opportunity for EGYM Wellpass. We are thrilled to accelerate our growth strategy by adding FitReserve and its premier studio and gym partner network."

This announcement comes on the heels of EGYM's acquisition of U.K. corporate wellness provider Hussle in March 2024 and French corporate wellness provider Gymlib in March 2022. By joining forces with FitReserve, EGYM Wellpass further cements its position as a leading global corporate wellness solution. More than 16,000 Wellpass corporate clients and millions of employees will have access to 20,000 fitness & wellbeing facilities across Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and now the United States, This global presence underscores EGYM's commitment to providing top-notch fitness and wellbeing solutions to employers and members worldwide. EGYM Wellpass is also further expanding its online offering across activities like fitness, yoga, and dance to mental health, sleep, and nutrition in all the relevant languages.

"We are very excited to join the EGYM family and replicate Wellpass’ success from Europe in the United States," remarked Megan Smyth, founder of FitReserve and new Director of Partner Sales, North America at EGYM. "Our mission has always been to attract more customers and drive incremental revenue to our studio and gym partners. EGYM's corporate network will enable us to execute that mission on a greater scale while helping employees lead healthier, more active lives."

“We warmly welcome Megan and the entire FitReserve team and look forward to bringing Wellpass to more employers and introducing employees to FitReserve’s extensive network of studios and gyms across the U.S.,” said Nicolas Stadtelmeyer, EGYM Wellpass managing director.
